LIMESTONE ON TRACK FOR G1 BLUE DIAMOND

Helmet (standing at Darley) two-year-old filly Limestone has staked her claim for next month’s G1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) with a fast-finishing victory in the G3 Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield on January 26.

The Darren Weir-trained Limestone, who was ridden by Damian Lane, was able to angle for an inside run and hold out her main danger Tulip to win the G3 race and deliver her sire Helmet his third Stakes winner.

Bred and raced by Hesket Bloodstock, Limestone  is out of five-time winning Charge Forward mare Limerock, who is a half-sister to Listed-winning Reset mare Warpath.

Limestone joins G1 Criterium International winner Thunder Snow, Britain’s highest-rated juvenile of 2016, and G3 Red Anchor Stakes winner Archives as Stakes winners for Helmet.
