Bullet Train Youngster Makes Flying Start

The second Australian crop of Bullet Train got off to the perfect start on Saturday when You Know The One landed the opening two-year-old event on the Queensland calendar, a 900 metre colts and geldings scamper at the Gold Coast.

Showing impeccable racing manners, the John Zielke trained gelding sat third in running, hugging the fence on the turn before getting through inside the wayward leader Brinkmanship (Spirit Of Boom). You Know The One strode clear to score by two lengths from Brinkmanship with the odds on favourite and stablemate of the winner, Rains Aplenty (Manhattan Rain), back in third.

You Know The One is a homebred for Mrs Joan Hartley who races as Dovedeen Pty Ltd. The gelding is out of the Australian bred Rock Of Gibraltar mare Rosmerta, a four time winner in and around Sydney. When in Australia Bullet Train resides at John and Helen North’s Bowness Stud at Young in south-west New South Wales and is standing this season at a fee of A$8,800.
