Well known Australian owner/ breeders Graham and Linda Huddy have enjoyed success with I Am Invincible (Yarraman Park) both on the race track and in the sale ring in recent days. Their maroon and gold colours were carried to victory at Doomben on Australia Day by three year-old I Am Invincible filly Of the Day trained by Tony Gollan. She broke through to score by half a neck as favourite ending a frustrating run of minor placings. Of the Day was a $210,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft and is a full sister to smart stakes-winner Most Important, who was also purchased by the Huddy’s at Magic Millions from Yarraman the year before for $260,000.
Of the Day and Most Important are from Orange Marmalade, whose current as yet unraced two year-old colt All Important is also raced by the Huddy’s and trained by Tony Gollan. He was a little more expensive than his siblings, having been bought by the Huddy’s last year for $500,000 at Magic Millions. At the NZB Premier Yearling Sale on Monday, Graham and Linda Huddy tasted commercial success as breeders when an I am Invincible filly they bred and consigned through the Lime Country Thoroughbreds draft sold for $425,000 to Ger Beemsterboer. The filly is the second foal of Different To, a half-sister to Group I winner Dorabella by High Chaparral (IRE), who sired the Huddy’s former champion galloper Shoot Out. I am Invincible has two more yearlings to be offered at Karaka in the Premier Yearling Sale on Tuesday.
