Join Us for our 2025 Yearling Preparation It’s an exciting time to join the team at Widden Stud for our 2025 Yearling Sale Preparations as we embark on what we hope will be another highly successful yearling season with our high class crop of yearlings. What we are looking for: - Horse handling experience – the team is eager to teach & expand on these skills for those wanting to learn - Good, motivated work ethic and a positive, fun outlook - Someone who will immerse themselves into the team culture on the farm What we can provide: - Accommodation on farm - Working with an exciting young team that is passionate in helping develop skills of newcomers to the farm - Opportunity to attend major yearling sales across Australia - Ability to sign off 88 day visa - Paid above award wages - Opportunity for employment for only the preparation or continuing long term We are flexible in when you’re able to join us; - Arrive in October to join our preparation to go to the Magic Millions Sale on the Gold Coast in January OR - Arrive in December to join our preparation to go to the Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney in February Widden offers the perfect opportunity to gain valuable horse experience & learn about the industry, while at the same time providing a fun and rewarding thoroughbred experience in the most spectacular surroundings. We are on the lookout for an experienced horse person to join our team for the upcoming Magic Millions Yearling Sale Preparation from mid October to mid January. What You’ll Do: * General husbandry —feeding, grooming, exercising, mucking out . * Handle the yearlings to prepare them for sales inspections. * Assist with basic training like leading, lunging, and helping them get comfortable with new experiences. * Administer basic medications and bandages What We’re Looking For: * Sound experience with young horses. * A good understanding of horse behavior and handling. * Ability to work well both on your own and with a team. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. *Must be physically fit and ready for the demands of the job. * Most importantly, a genuine passion for working with horses!
