Arrowfield Stud, located in Scone NSW, is seeking an Area Manager to join our management team. This is a full-time position.
Arrowfield is an Australian-owned and operated family business producing high-quality thoroughbreds since 1985. The area manager role entails overseeing day-to-day care and managing breeding stock and associated staff.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential, however, training can and will be provided to further develop the successful applicant’s skill set.
• Oversee the day-to-day care and management of stock.
• Oversee and manage staff in the designated area.
• Maintain good lines of communication with the senior management team.
• Closely monitor staff ensuring high standards are maintained.
• Consult and engage with industry professionals.
• Ensure safe working practices are followed in relation to OH&S.
• Train and offer guidance to less experienced junior team members.
• Display a willingness to assist in other areas of business when required. • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar equine related role.
• A broad knowledge in the breeding and production of thoroughbreds.
• Ability to administer medication as per veterinary guidance.
• Clear and concise record keeping.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Medium rigid truck licence would be preferable but not essential.
• Excellent horse handling skills.
• A positive attitude to help maintain our excellent team culture.

The role involves yearling sale preparation (teaching young unbroken thoroughbred horses to walk out and stand for sale parades), grooming, washing, feeding, medicating, cleaning yards and stables plus checking horses wellbeing. Must show previous experience with horses and references on resume. An honest, hardworking and enthusiastic team player preferred.
